Electric cars

http://www.greentechmedia.com/content/images/articles/electric-car-plug_2.jpg - An electric car. There are two types of electric cars. Firstly there are the basic electric cars and then there’s the hybrid which is a vehicle that uses both gasoline and electricity to power the engine.
The basic electric car runs entirely on electric energy and is the best choice if you are trying to preserve the environment. However the electric car has many cons which make it a pain to use.

The electric car is mostly used in some of the biggest countries around the world. The reasons being e.g. that the main towns have much more pollution so they are in more desperate need of them than others.  The smaller towns don’t have the equipment needed to charge the cars and that is the main reason, they don’t appeal to most people. But since the hybrid first appeared, numbers of electric car users has risen extremely much.

Karen and Kristey in an electric cars in the university in Siauliai. Automotive hybrid technology became widespread beginning in the late 1990s. The first mass-produced hybrid vehicle was the Toyota Prius Hybrid cars like the Toyota Prius produce 90% less pollutants than comparable non-hybrid cars. By putting less harmful chemicals in the environment, the harmful effects of pollution can be halted or even reversed.

According to a 2009 study, there have been over 1,600,000 hybrids sold and most of the cars manufactures are working on better hybrid cars
Now we know there are some cons and some pros to an electric car and here below are few of them:

Pros

  1. The electric motor provides pure energy which doesn’t contaminate the environment, unlike the motors in fuel driven cars which is said to be one of the main reasons for global warming.
  2. Electric cars don’t make nearly as much noise as fuel driven.
  3. To recharge you simply plug it in, which makes its cost nowhere near the cost of fuel.
  4. They don’t have gears which make them run smoother and make them easier to learn.
  5. Although the making of the electricity pollutes it can be maintained much better.

Cons

  1. It’s expensive and the average Joe can’t afford them most of the time.
    2.  The electric motor(s) tend to run out of energy after just about 100-200 km
    3.  It has quite low speed limits compared to the fuel driven cars.
    4.  Most of the electric cars around are only two seated; however the hybrid cars usually have five seats.
    5.  The battery has acid which can pollute, it’s hard to get rid of and the battery is so heavy it slows the car down dramatically.
    6.  The electricity is produced with a traditional energy source there is no benefit due to the pollution
